The Yuanbao Maple (also known as *Acer truncatum*) is a large deciduous tree belonging to the *Acer* genus of the Sapindaceae family. It derives its name from the resemblance of its seeds to ancient Chinese gold ingots (*yuanbao*) and is a native species unique to my country. It is widely distributed across the country; natural forests are found in 12 provinces and municipalities, while cultivated plantations have been established in 24 provinces and municipalities. Its distribution range spans 32°–45° North latitude and 105°–126° East longitude, with wild specimens discovered in China dating back over 1,500 years.
The Yuanbao Maple embodies a comprehensive and unique combination of ecological, economic, nutritional, health-promoting, medicinal, timber, and ornamental values. It holds immense potential for development and utilization, earning it the status of a "Giant Panda" among trees.
